Losing Sight of Land : Posted by Dustin

Shorelife

Well, it’s obvious that other things have taken priority over blog posts. And we’re not too disappointed about that, I mean, we’re sorry that we haven’t been able to post more but we are so pumped about what’s been going on and ignoring this blog has been necessary. And we are so sorry to all of you who have inquired about booking us next year, we so appreciate your enthusiasm and that you took the time to contact us. So, for those of you who don’t know we are moving and taking on a completely different role. We’ve spent three years running our photography business and those years have been wonderful. We are so thankful for all the amazing clients we can sincerely call friends, for all the hard times, the challenges, the fears, the victories, and the success. This business has really grown and we are so thankful for God’s provision and blessing. Running this business would have been impossible without the help of Christy’s parents. They spent their weekends in the summers watching our three kids, joyfully and passionately loving and nurturing our family while we were away. So, we look back overwhelmed with thankfulness. We look ahead into work we are sincerely passionate about, work that has been in our hearts for more than 10 years.

As I write this I am sitting in my office on Pender Island, British Columbia. We’re on a little island just off the coast of Vancouver at a small Bible camp. We’re missionaries. I am the new director of Hope Bay Bible Camp, a little camp with a huge heart for forgotten and hurting children. We have been here for a week and already it’s been filled with big challenges and amazing encouragement. It’s hard not to feel lonely here, we miss our family and dear friends every moment. But it feels a little more like home every day and what a breathtaking home this is. So, our business will shrink back significantly. I don’t know how much we’ll be able do but we’re not closing down completely. We’ll keep the doors open and if certain jobs fit within the schedule we’d be thrilled to keep Emblem going.

If you want more information about this ministry we’re now involved in you can go to our blog:
“Losing Sight of Land”. As for Emblem, we will post as we are able. Seeing as how the previous wedding that was posted was from 2009, we’ve got a lot of great stories to share with you.
